SAN FRANCISCO, September 21, (THEWILL) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated high powered screening and appeals panels to screen its Senate and House of Representatives’ aspirants.
The National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, inaugurated the legislative screening and appeals committees to screen the aspirants at a short ceremony at the National Secretariat of the APC, in Abuja, on Thursday.
Three hundred and eighty-six (386) aspirants will compete to clinch the party’s ticket across the different senatorial districts before slugging it out with other candidates of other political parties at the 2019 polls for the 109 Senate seats.
At the house of representatives level, 1,587 aspirants will compete with each other to fly the party’s flag at the 2019 polls while the lower legislative chamber has 360 seats.
Timipre Sylva, former Bayelsa governor; Ahmed Yerima, senator representing Zamfara west; and Sharon Ikeazor, executive secretary Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD); are among those who were named chairmen of committees.
Others are Oserheimen Osunbor, former governor of Edo; and Bukar Abba Ibrahim, former governor of Yobe state; Ken Nnamani, former senate president and Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora.
