Malacia Officially Signs For Man Utd In Move From Feyenoord

July 05, (THEWILL) – Tyrell Malacia, a Dutch left-back, has officially signed with Manchester United from Feyenoord.

It was anticipated that the 22-year-old would sign for Lyon this summer, but when the French team declined to match Feyenoord’s demands, it unintentionally left the door open for United to come in and agree to a fee of roughly €15m plus add-ons.

Malacia was among the best left-backs in the Dutch top division last season and leaves Feyenoord with 98 Eredivisie games under his belt. The left-back is known to have caught the attention of new United manager Erik ten Hag, who was even caught on camera telling his Ajax staff to “take note” of the player during a match between the two sides.

Ten Hag was the driving force behind Malacia’s move to Old Trafford, and United have now confirmed that the Dutch teenager has signed a deal that will keep him at the club through 2026, with an option to extend for an additional year.

Malacia joins United as the club’s first acquisition of the summer, but he should not be the last as club officials are aggressively chasing a number of additional acquisitions with Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong a top target.
