Makinde Fulfills Promise Made To Late 3SC GM Rasheed Balogun’s Family

March 24, (THEWILL) – On Wednesday, governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State fulfilled his promise to the family of the late Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) General Manager, Mr Rasheed Balogun, who died earlier this year.

At the 3SC office in Jericho, Ibadan, the Chairman of the Club, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan, who represented the governor, and acting General Manager, Dimeji Lawal presented a cheque for N5 million to the deceased’s children.

According to Olaniyan, the governor approved the funds in recognition of Balogun’s contributions and illustrious service to the club’s progress and growth during his seven-year tenure.

“The late Balogun was named the General Manager of the club in 2013, a position he held till his demise in January 2022,” Olaniyan remarked.

“We note that under him, 3SC recorded many success with the recent one being the promotion of the club from Nigeria National League (NNL) to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), after spending four years in lower cadre.”

Rasak Balogun, speaking on behalf of the family, thanked Governor Makinde, 3SC management and club employees, for their assistance and for the fulfillment of the promise made to the family.

“We are very grateful to Governor Makinde for redeeming his pledge, we are very happy and wish him success in his next ambition.”
