Maiden edition of The Humour Award holds in Lagos

November 16, (THEWILL) – The maiden edition of the Humour Award took place on Sunday, November, 14, 2021 at the Balmoral Event Center, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos State.

The event was created by Uche Dominic who is the Principal Executive and Project Director. The event which was endorsed by entertainment bigwigs such as Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, also known as Ali Baba, Ayo Animashaun, was a success by miles.

It was anchored by Denrele Edun and Victoria Eze while Minimie Nigeria was the lead sponsor of the show.

The event was attended by the creme de la creme in the entertainment industry such as Ali Baba, Gbenga Adeyinka, Dino Melaye, Emmanuella, Julius Agwu, Francis Agoda, Shina Peller, Chika Okpala and a host of others.

The award night had many comedians carting home award plaques from different categories while a category of award had monetary reward.

Michael Bolaji- Award for Revelation of the Year.
He was rewarded with one million naira by Minimie Nigeria, the lead sponsor of the event.
Oghenekwhoyan Onaibe Desmond- Award of standup comedian of the year.

Bisi Emmanuel Ezechukwu -Best male skit maker.
Ayo Makun- Fans Favourite Award.
Flatmate- Award for Sitcom of the Year.
Kenny Blaq – Award for Best Music Comedy
Odunlade Adekola – Best Comic Actor
Senator Dino Melaye- Humour Personality of the Year.
Bovi Ugboma- Most Creative Standup Comedy Show
Mike Asukwu- Best cartoon illustrator award.
Idemudia Clement Okunzuwa- Best Comedy Kid.
Francis Agoda – Humanitarian award.
Julius Agwu – Special Recognition Award as the personality of the decade.
He won it for consistently supporting the development of comedy industry.
Okey Bakassi -Special Recognition Award as the personality of the decade.
He won it for consistently supporting the development of the comedy industry.
Chief Chika Okpala – African Honourary Award.
Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome – Hall of Fame Award
He won it for his contribution to the development of the comedy industry in Nigeria.
Opa Williams -Hall of Fame Award.
He won it for his contribution to the development of the comedy industry in Nigeria.
Late Lanre Fasasi – Post Humourous Award

The duo of humor merchants, Paul Olope, professionally known as Mr Paul and Emeakpore Ofajemua, also known as Short Family added fun and excitement to the event as they thrilled guests to rib cracking jokes.

Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, also known as Vector da piper was the guest artiste of the night. He sang melodious tunes to the delight of guests.
