Asuquo, one of the best music producers of this generation, said at the final rehearsals of the live concert and multimedia show that he is humbled by the experience of being the producer of the show, claiming it is the highest point of his career.

“As history and as people, its really the highest point of my career. It’s amazing working with the people to recreate the story of the people.

“It has been challenging putting together the music for the show. It is the magic, vivid story of Nigeria as done by Nigerians. This shows the value we have, it’s a humbling experience and the highest point of my career.. It tells us the story of our people, the story of Nigeria and what we can do,”Asuquo said at the rehearsal.

This has really challenged me and given me a lot of activities to showcase my talent, combining culture. Above all this is, team work as put together by Dr. Henry Nzekwu and his team at MessageWise.

“I am part of it so it is a humble experience for me. There has been a lot for me to learn in terms of history.”

For the Igwe of Oko and the first Nigerian Professor of Music, Laz Ekwueme , it’s going to be a big show.

“I am here with my 60 voices. Members of my choral group. It will be befitting. I think it is going to be a big show for the nation. it’s going to be more of dance and masquerade so spectacular, We will sing patriotic songs, we have to imbibe the sense of patriotism as a country.

“We should thank God for our nation. We want to use this opportunity to imbue some sense of patriotism, good neighbourliness, love for one another, unity , progress, solidarity and love for the nation,” he said.

Ekwueme, who is the younger brother of former Vice President Dr. Alex Ekwueme, said “we must thank God that we are where we are now after a long period of military and now democratic rule. From bullet to ballot boxes. And to thank God for the gift of natural resources and human resources bestowed on Nigeria.
Ekwueme disclosed that his group will also perform some folk songs of the South-south, that is the Rivers Kalabari people.

“It is a song of joy and peace. Of course you know our President comes from the South South”.

Old time musicians like Sir Victor Olaiya and the leader of the Ikenga Super Stars also rehearsed and put finishing touches to the event. Top musicians like Omawunmi Megbele, Tuface Idibia and others were also around.
