BEVERLY HILLS, October 30, (THEWILL) – Members of the judicial panel of inquiry into police brutality and the shooting of #EndSARS protesters by the police and soldiers in Lagos toured the Lekki tollgate plaza where the incident occurred on October 20, 2020 and found at least five spent bullets in the drainage around the area.
The panel led by its Chairman, Retired Justice Doris Okuwobi picked up the shells as evidence and asked personnel of the Lekki Concession Company, the managers of the toll about the condition of the CCTV recordings as well as other evidence that could help the panel in its work.
The management of the company had earlier told the panel that they have the footage of the cameras recordings at the tollgate.
The panel also paid an unscheduled visit to the military hospital in Ikoyi, where they inspected the facility after about 30 minutes delay because soldiers refused them entry because they did not present any paperwork.
