SAN FRANCISCO, September 05, (THEWILL) – Babatunde Gbadamosi, on Saturday emerged candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the Lagos East senatorial district after defeating three other aspirants.
In the result announced by Tunde Oyebade, a representative of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Gbadamosi scored 529 votes to defeat his closest rival, Princess Saidat Odofin Fafowora who scored 59 votes.
However, Olanrewaju Moshood Babatunde scored 21 votes and Princess Abiodun Oyefusi, 7 votes, while 14 votes were voided.
Speaking on behalf of the five-member senatorial primary Committee, its chairman, Ndidi Okereke described the primary as “very peaceful”. He commended the aspirants, members of the party and the security agencies for their cooperation.
