October 22, (THEWILL) – The ongoing Industrial Action called by organised Labour in Cross River State has foiled the 2022 budget presentation.
The budget which was scheduled to be presented on Friday the 22nd of October could not hold as workers remained adamant.
The budget presentation ceremony has subsequently been postponed as assembly staff are not on ground to facilitate the presentation ceremony.
A staff member who craved anonymity said “how can the budget hold when we are on strike.
“Who are the people to open the offices, clean them and make all necessary arrangements to ensure a hitch free presentation?”, he said.
Meanwhile the state government and organised Labour are yet to reach a truce as the strike action continues.
The national industrial court reportedly directed the workers to resume and the Head of Service Geraldine Akpet also directed workers to resume.
But Organised Labour insisted they were not served any processes and directed workers to continue staying at home.
