June 17, (THEWILL) – Former senior special assistant on public affairs to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, has been selected as the “placeholder” vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP).
Okupe, who is also the Director-General of Peter Obi Campaign disclosed this on Friday.
While appearing on a Channels Television program, Politics Today, Okupe said his name has been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as Obi’s Vice Presidential candidate.
According to him, he will be standing as the runninng mate in order to meet up with the June 17 deadline issued by INEC for parties to submit the list of their candidates for the 2023 general polls.
