Kylian Mbappe Admits Calling Neymar A Tramp, Talks Messi Partnership

October 05, (THEWILL) – Paris Saint-recent Germain’s Kylian Mbappe admitted to calling Neymar a ‘tramp’ in the team’s victory over Montpellier.

He added that he is more than willing to do Lionel Messi’s running for him this season as long as the club keeps winning.

PSG’s front three is one of the most star-studded ever put together, but it has not all gone smoothly thus far. Injuries, rotation and current form have hampered the trio’s ability to develop a true understanding.

There has also been talk that their egos may get in the way of their on-field success, with Mbappe captured on tape yelling at Neymar after the latter failed to play him through in the Montpellier match last month.

Speaking with L’Equipe, Mbappe was candid in his response to the incident saying: “Yes, yes, I said it. Now, these are things that happen all the time in football. It just doesn’t have to be something left.

“That’s why, immediately afterwards, given the extent of it, I spoke with him about it. We have already exchanged a lot of words like that in the past and it will continue, because we want to win, but there must not be a certain resentment.

“There is none at all because I respect the player and the man and I admire what he is. But now, I was not happy with a pass. One day it happened to me too, I didn’t pass and he wasn’t happy. But there is no problem.”

Mbappe also discussed his friendship with PSG’s other famous striker, Lionel Messi, who he said is settling in well in Paris. He started with the confession: “I never imagined him coming here! He is one of the few players that I put in an ‘impossible that I play with him’ box.”

“For me, he was never going to leave Barcelona. I savour every moment next to him. We must never forget that it remains a privilege. He is someone who loves football. He talks to everyone, he tries to fit in in his own way, even if he’s a little shy. But in the field, he is not shy.”

Mbappe went on to say that now that Messi is in the starting XI, he has no trouble doing the extra defensive work that is asked of him. He said: “When you only play with great players, you have to make concessions. You are no longer the only big player. It’s not you and the others anymore, it’s all together. Because all we want is to win.

“When you have Messi in your team, you know he has to do a little less to have more juice and be more lucid to score. So if you have to go, you go. There is no problem, it is an established hierarchy. Me, I agree to run when Messi is walking, no problem! It’s Messi, anyway!”
