August 22, (THEWILL) – The Kwara State Government has disclosed plans to evacuate its indigene students from the university.

The Special Adviser on Labour to the state Governor, Comrade Abdulkareem Mumini Onagun, disclosed this in response to a distress message to the state government by one Usman Maimuna, an indigene of the state studying in the institution.

Onagun said ” We have gotten in touch with the relevant government agency and immediate responses and actions are being initiated, hopefully anytime from today Sunday.”

The student, Maimuna, studying Quantity Surveying in the University of Jos, had cried out that the ongoing crisis in Plateau had made life unsafe and the university authorities had asked students to vacate the campus.

He said the crisis had already claimed lives of some students, just as some state governments have been sending buses and security personnel to rescue their students out of the university.

However, the Governor’s aide assured that efforts were ongoing to rescue the students.
