November 01, (THEWILL) – On Sunday night, Brooklyn Nets star player Kevin Durant was removed for a Flagrant 2 foul against the Detroit Pistons’ Kelly Olynyk late in the third quarter.

Durant pursued and clashed with Olynyk as he set up a screen for Saddiq Bey. His right arm came up high after first contact, and his elbow looked to touch Olynyk in the face as he slammed him to the ground.

Game officials found that the touch was unwarranted and excessive after further investigation warranting the dismissal of the Nets’ man.

Durant himself, who had 23 points and five assists before departing, confessed to seeing his arm extend a little after seeing the replay, though he claimed he was only trying to run through the screen.

THEWILL had reported earlier how Rick Carlisle, the head coach of the Indiana Pacers, was unhappy on Friday that Durant was not disqualified for throwing the ball into the seats during a game versus the Pacers.

As a punishment, the National Basketball Association slammed a $25,000 fine on the Nets’ star player for his misbehaviour. THEWILL recalls that Durant, who was anticipating the fine from the league, said: “I didn’t know what I was thinking.”

When Durant was disqualified, the Nets were up 85-68 and went on to win 117-91.
