October 11, (THEWILL) – Chief David Sabo Kente, a member of the North East Development Commission, has described the death of the Aku Uka, HRM Dr Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi Kuvyon II, CFR, as a deep shock and an irreparable loss.
Kente said this in a condolence message made available to our correspondent. He said the state and the nation at large have a lost a monarch, father and mentor.
“Little did I imagine that day like this will come when we will be mourning the Aku Uka but here we are and there is nothing we can do about this seeing it has pleased the Lord to take him from us at this point. We lost this hero at a time we needed him the most and it breaks my heart that we have to mourn him in these times. However, we will remain strong and take lessons from his life and the principles he believed in while he was still with us,” he noted.
Kente said the late monarch was dogged and brave, irrespective of what life threw at him.
“The late Dr Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi Kuvyon II led an exemplary life and his memories will remain as a lesson and a guide to those of us who are still here.
“Though bold and strong as a lion, he was still as humble and meek as a dove.
He never compromised his standards or the values that bind humanity together, he was steadfast in his pursuit and never gave room for stereotypes and other vices. He will indeed be missed,” Kente said.
Meanwhile Kente also called on the sons of Kwararafa kingdom and the entire Taraba people to take solace in God and remain strong in these trying times. He enjoined all to never forget the values and the legacy the Aku Uka left behind and prayed that God will grant the entire state the fortitude to bear the loss.
Recall that the Wukari Traditional Council announced the death of the 84-year-old Aku Uka who died in the early hours of Sunday, ending a 45-year reign.
