November 10, (THEWILL) – Moise Kean’s goal was enough for Juventus to defeat bottom-placed host, Hellas Verona on Thursday, giving them five straight Serie A victories.
The team led by Massimiliano Allegri had won four straight games while Verona had dropped eight straight league games ahead of their scheduled matchday 14 fixture at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.
Salvatore Bocchetti’s men, however, made things difficult for Juve and appeared to have a chance of picking up a crucial point and it was theirs for the taking but for the industry of the visitors, who were determined to continue their string of wins in Serie A.
Despite Alex Sandro’s late dismissal, Kean’s deflected goal in the 60th minute brought his tally of goals to three in his last three games, and his side held on to extend their winning streak.
Juve plays Lazio at home on Sunday, to finish the first half of the season before the World Cup break while Spezia will visit Verona on the same day.
