BEVERLY HILLS, March 15, (THEWILL) – The mother-in-law of the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has been released by her abductors.
The police confirmed this in a statement on Friday, one week after 80-year-old Hauwa Yusuf was abducted from her residence in Katsina metropolis.
“The Katsina State Police Command is informing the general public that, the old woman has been released by her abductors yesterday (Thursday) at about 16:00hrs,” the statement said.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the command, Gambo Isah, who issued the statement, the octogenarian was confirmed to be hale and hearty.
The command spokesman added that the governor’s relative has since been reunited with her family after necessary medical checkups.
He, thereafter, appealed to the people for their cooperation and support for the police in their resolve to rid the state of banditry.
The police had confirmed the abduction of Hauwa on Friday, March 7, 2019, last week and given the assurance that she would be rescued while her abductors would be arrested and brought to justice.
The command, however, did not disclose if any suspect had been arrested or how the victim was freed.
