BEVERLY HILLS, September 01, (THEWILL) – Born-again US rapper, Kanye West, has debunked claims that he is being paid by the Republicans as a distraction to increase the chances of President Donald Trump winning a second term in office.

West’s late presidential run has been received with doubts since he declared his bid months after openly supporting Trump’s reelection.

The rap superstar, who is running as an independent candidate, will not be on the ballot in many states because he declared and filed late.

This development has led to the rumour that he was drafted into the race to distract likely supporters of democratic party candidate, former vice president Joe Biden, in key battleground states like Wisconsin, Florida, Iowa and Michigan.

However, while speaking on Nick Cannon’s podcast, on Instagram, the rapper stressed that he was never paid by the Republicans.

West said: “People keep on saying, ‘I think that y’all -you and Republicans – are in cahoots’.

“Bro, can’t nobody pay me. I’ve got more money than Trump.”

Cannon said: “But people are saying that you’re a distraction, and because they don’t want four more years of Trump, maybe you might.

“You want an alternative of four years of Ye. Is that realistic right now in 2020?”
“I’m not running for president – I’m walking,” West replied.

THEWILL reports that according to Forbes, Trump’s net worth was $2.1 billion as of March 2020 while West was only declared a billionaire in April with a net worth of $1.3 billion.
