January 29, (THEWILL) – Dusan Vlahovic has joined Juventus from Fiorentina, according to the club.
Vlahovic has been one of Europe’s most sought-after players in recent weeks, and his arrival at Juve is a major coup for the Old Lady. He has had a fantastic season so far, scoring 17 goals in just 21 games to lead Serie A scoring.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s number 7 shirt, which the Portuguese left when he returned to Manchester United, will become Vlahovic’s.
THEWILL recalls that English Premier League side Arsenal had been interested in signing him as well, but he declined and will now join Max Allegri’s side.
This season, Juventus has struggled to score goals, with every team in the top half of Serie A scoring more goals than them. One of the reasons they are fifth in the rankings, 11 points behind leaders Inter, who also have a game in hand, is their lack of clinical edge.
Allegri was hopeful that the addition of Vlahovic would help his team improve in the final third and better their lot in the second half of the Italian top flight 2021/2022 campaign.
