May 17, (THEWILL) – In Serie A Monday night football Lazio fought back from two goals behind to draw 2-2 with Juventus in Turin thanks to a stunning 96th-minute equaliser by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
In a match in which Juventus paid respect to departing stars Giorgio Chiellini and Paulo Dybala, Dusan Vlahovic and Alvaro Morata scored in the first half to put the Bianconeri in command.
But, after Alex Sandro’s own goal cut the deficit in half, Maurizio Sarri’s return to the Allianz Stadium ended in style as Milinkovic-Savic fired into the roof of the net with the game’s final kick.
The result strengthened Lazio’s chances of beating local rivals Roma to fifth place in Serie A, as well as spoiling Chiellini and Dybala’s final home outings. For the third straight season, Lazio can finish ahead of the Giallorossi with only a draw against Verona in the final game of the season.
Meanwhile, Juventus has gone two games without a win in Serie A since losing the Coppa Italia final to Inter and will be desperate to put an end to a dismal season.
