June 10, (THEWILL)- As the transfer season gets fully underway, English Premier League side Manchester United have not only resumed their overt interest for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho but, according to reports monitored by THEWILL, the player has also agreed personal terms with the EPL club.
THEWILL recalls that Sancho had been on United’s radar for the past two seasons and the club came closest to actually bringing the England international to Old Trafford last year but the deal did not pull through.
They are determined to do so now and appear to be making good progress on a personal level with the Englishman.
There are indications that Sancho, who is presently on international duty with the Three Lions, England’s national team, has accepted a contract that will keep him at the Theatre of Dreams until 2026, while United have opened negotiations with his Bundesliga club, Borussia Dortmund, to finalise the transfer.
They are unlikely to have it easy. This is because Dortmund are asking for premium fees on transfer money, a key factor against Man U’s capacity to get the player last year, when Dortmund valued him at £108m.
This time around, they have slapped an £80m asking price on the player due to financial strains amid the COVID-19 crises.
United will be seeking further reductions but clearly are invested in getting Sancho into their squad and will be pleased how well their personal agreement with the player went, as it could fast track the Dortmund negotiations.
