SAN FRANCISCO, May 27, (THEWILL) – A former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, on Wednesday collected the nomination form for the governorship ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ize-Iyamu, who is one of the frontline aspirants in the state, while addressing journalists after picking his form at the national secretariat, Abuja, stated categorically that the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki, was firmly against direct primary because he was afraid of free and fair election.
The APC governorship primary in Edo State is slated for June 22.
THEWILL had earlier reported that the faction of the party in the state loyal to the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole had picked Ibe-Iyamu as its consensus candidate.
