BEVERLY HILLS, June 06, (THEWILL) – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have together welcomed their second child, a baby girl, in the United States.
According to Reuters, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex jointly announced the news in a statement on Sunday.
In the statement, the couple disclosed that their bundle of joy — christened Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor — was given birth on Friday at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California.
The couple also stated that their newborn baby is more than what they “could have ever imagined” while appreciating the support “we have felt from across the globe”.
“On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe,” the statement read.
“Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”
The statement also disclosed that both the mother and baby were back at home and doing well.
It stated that the baby was named after Queen Elizabeth II, her great-grandmother, whose family nickname is Lilibet.
According to the statement, Diana, her middle name, was chosen to honour Harry’s late mother.
THEWILL writes that the duo had Archie, their first child, in 2019 and they later disclosed that they were expecting their second baby in February this year.
