Islamic State Claim Responsibility For Boko Haram Attacks On Soldiers, Military Base In Borno

BEVERLY HILLS, JUNE 20, (THEWILL) -Terrorists affiliated to the Islamic State (IS) in West Africa has claimed responsibility for the attacks carried out by Boko Haram on Nigerian troops in Gajiram area of Borno State.

THEWILL recalls that the insurgents, on June 17, attacked a Nigerian military base in Gajiram at 6pm.

Five soldiers died in the attack while military equipment, food and medicine were stolen by the terrorist in the attack.

A statement on Thursday from the group claiming responsibility for the attacks read: “The attack by the soldiers of the caliphate on the Nigerian apostate army barracks in the region (Borno) West African State Wednesday 16 Shawwal 1440 AH.

“After putting trust in God, a number of soldiers of the caliphate attacked a barracks of the Nigerian army apostate in the town (Gajiran) in the region (Borno) the day before yesterday, and engaged them with light, medium and heavy weapons, which led to the destruction of 12 of them and others were injured, and 3 armoured vehicles, a bulldozer and a four-wheel drive were destroyed.

“The burning of the barracks, the seizure of various weapons and ammunition.
The Mujahideen returned to their positions safely, thankfully.”
