IPOB Accuses Justice Nyako Of Impunity, Judicial Rascality

November 13, (THEWILL) – Southeast separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has accused Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja, of impunity and judicial rascality in the case involving its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The group in a statement issued by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, condemned the attitude of Justice Nyako, particularly, her behaviour towards Kanu’s lawyers. The statement added that the group is “shocked at her obvious prejudice and bias during the last court proceedings which resulted in her whimsical adjournment of the case to January 19 and 20, 2022.

“Justice Binta Nyako is engaging in judicial rascality and impunity at the behest of the Federal Government of Nigeria aimed at keeping our leader in perpetual detention without trial.

“This rascality only portrays that Binta Nyako is simply playing the script handed over to her by the Fulani caliphate of which she belongs to.”

IPOB wondered how a defendant can be on trial without legal representation, alleging that the judge has always wanted to try the high-profile case secretly.

IPOB said Justice Nyako has given it sufficient reasons and grounds to doubt her ability to give Nnamdi Kanu a fair hearing.

The group said locking out the legal representatives, including one of its leader’s counsels from the United States, Bruce Fein, from the courtroom has exposed her biased and prejudiced disposition to this case.

“No amount of intimidation, persecution or prejudice by the oppressors or their agents can derail our match to freedom and the ultimate restoration of the Sovereign State of Biafra,” it stated, and adding that Igbo elders, traditional rulers, religious leaders and political elite who are asking IPOB to soft-pedal must take serious note of the “travesty” playing out in Justice Nyako’s courtroom.
