Insecurity: We’ve Not Seen This Colossal Tragedy Since Pre-Colonial Era – Hayatu-Deen

May 20, (THEWILL) – A Presidential Aspirant of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, on Thursday, expressed regret that Nigeria has not witnessed the current insecurity under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration since pre-colonial era.

Hayatu-Deen, a renowned economist, equally lamented that the country is broken and fairly falling apart as a result of bad economy and insecurity in the nation.

He disclosed this at the PDP secretariat in Abeokuta, when he met with the party’s delegates in Ogun State, to solicit their support and votes ahead the May 29 convention.

Hayatu-Deen, who promised to offer Nigerians security on good health, education, economy, power, among others, said that with the discovery of oil and gas in the country, Nigerians should not experience epileptic power supply or queuing at the patrol station.

He stressed that he remains the only aspirant of PDP to turn things around for a better Nigeria, saying that with his wealth of experience in cooperate world, the country would have peace and stable economy.

“At no time in the history of the country since the colonial time, have there ever been this type of colossal tragedy that we are seeing today. This country is broken and fairly, the economy is actually falling apart. Nigerians wake up in the morning feeling hungry, hopeless, despondent, feeling insecure, economy is actually falling apart right in our faces.

“I offer you economic security, I offer you social security of having a society that is founded truly on good values, good work ethics, discipline characters, honesty and sincerity, good quality education, good health care and good and decent environment.

“I offer you energy security, a country that has been blessed in terms of oil and gas, is today struggling after almost 50 years of discovery. We still have long queues at our patrol station, we cannot guarantee power. I offer you climate security in the sense that the world is changing, the rest of the world is moving fast to fix this problem.

“I assure you that i will deal with the issue of national security, in terms to safety, peace stability and security and will do all these things and much more, in order to restore Nigeria to a prosperous, successful and globally competitive economy that can secure the future, not only the present generation, but many more generations to come”, he added.
