October 12, (THEWILL) – Terem Moffi of the Super Eagles has returned to training after missing Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier double-header against the Central African Republic (CAR).
Moffi was named in Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the match against the Wild Beasts, however he was forced to withdraw due to an injury he sustained in Lorient’s 1-1 draw with Clermont Foot.
The 21-year-old will resume training in preparation for Lorient’s Ligue 1 match on Sunday against Olympique Marseille.
Moffi is scheduled to return to training on Wednesday, according to Lorient boss Christophe Pélissier, though he remains a doubt for the encounter against Marseille.
“Terem Moffi is expected in training on Wednesday, and a point will be made at that time, according to his feelings after his shoulder injury,” Pélissier said.
Lorient will benefit from Moffi’s possible return. In nine league appearances for Les Merlus this season, the former Kortrijk attacker has two goals and two assists and that helped to favour his call up to the Super Eagles’ squad.
