BEVERLY HILLS, January 13, (THEWILL) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reconstituted its Standing Committees.
This was contained in a bulletin issued on Friday in Abuja by the electoral body.
Some of the appointments includes: Alhaji Baba Arfo (North-East), appointed to head the Appointments, Promotions and Disciplinary Committee; Mohammed Haruna (North-Central), to chair the Survey and Technical Equipment Acquisition Committee.
Mrs. Amina Zakari (North-West) was appointed Chairman, Electoral Operations and Logistics Committee; Prof. Okechukwu Ibeanu (South-East), Chairman, Board of Electoral Institute while Prof. Anthonia Okoosi-Simbine (North Central) will head Election Observation and Party Monitoring Committee.
Dr. Adekunle Ogunmola (South-West), was appointed to chair the Outreach and Partnerships Committee; Abubakar Nahuche (North-West), appointed to chair the Works and Transport Committee; while Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu (South South) will head the Legal Services, Clearance and Complaints Committee.
Air Vice-Marshal (rtd) Ahmed Mu’azu (North-East) will head the Tenders Board; Adedeji Soyebi (South-West) will chair the Information and Voter Education Committee; while Planning, Monitoring and Strategy Committee is to be headed by Prof. Okechukwu Ibeanu (South-East).
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, would chair three committees – Finance and General Purpose Committee, Information Technology and Voter Registry Committee; and Security Committee while the Health and Welfare Committee will be chaired by Dr. Muhammed Lecky (South South).
