For the first time in almost a year, the Manchester United pair of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho appear set to rejoin the England team.
Both participated in numerous matches in the Euros the previous year, but they were part of an underwhelming Manchester United side the previous season and lost their spots in Gareth Southgate’s squad as a result.
However, this season has been much better for both of them at the club level thanks to Erik ten Hag, who has so far gotten the greatest performance out of them by putting them in his first-choice starting XI. In six games, Sancho has scored twice, while Rashford has three goals and two assists.
In contrast, Southgate’s team has recently struggled, with no wins in all four of their games during the most recent international break, including a humbling 4-0 loss to Hungary. The two Manchester United players will thus be included in the Three Lions team for the upcoming Nations League matches against Germany and Italy.
West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, who has yet to score or provide an assist in any of his first six Premier League games, appears to be the man most likely to be replaced considering his relatively contrasting poor start to the season.
