September 04, (THEWILL) – Brighton and Hove Albion defeated Leicester 5-2 at their American Express Community Stadium after recovering from their midweek loss at Fulham.

Kelechi Iheanacho gave Leicester the lead in the first minute, but the Seagulls soon took the lead thanks to an own goal by Luke Thomas and a thunderous finish by Moises Caicedo.

Prior to Alexis Mac Allister having a potential goal of the season disallowed for offside at the start of the second half, Patson Daka restored parity against the run of play shortly after the half-hour mark.

The Foxes were still sloppy at the back, though, and Leandro Trossard’s goal and Mac Allister’s penalty gave Albion a comfortable victory. In stoppage time, Mac Allister scored the fifth goal by striking a stunning free-kick past, Danny Ward.

The result sees Brighton move up to fourth place as they maintain their strong start to the year. However, Brendan Rodgers, the manager of the bottom-placed Leicester, is now properly under real tension and will be hard-pressed to deliver against Aston Villa next Saturday.
