IG Redeploys 14 CPs, Sends 6 AIGs On Capacity Building Course

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar has ordered the immediate redeployment of 14Commissioners of Police (CPs) to Commands and Formations.

The IGP said the redeployment is in his avowed efforts to reposition the Police Force for greater efficiency and better performance in the fight against crime and criminality.

A statement by Mr. Frank Mba, Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, said the affected CPs have been urged to vigorously step up the fight against all forms of criminality in their new Commands and Formations.

“They are enjoined to leverage on the cordial relationship among sister security agencies in their respective beats, to ensure that criminal activities are reduced to the barest minimum,” Monday’s statement said.

They have also been charged to ensure that officers and men under their supervision are mindful of the rights of the citizenry, while cultivating the trust and confidence of the public in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities,” the statement read in part.

The 14 newly redeployed CPs are: Lawal Taiwo (Borno); Ibrahim Ahmed (Zamfara); Hilary Okpara (Bayelsa); Maigari Dikko (Ebonyi); Adebayo Ajileye (Inspectorate ‘E’ Dept, FHQ); Adeola A. Adeniji (Border Patrol) and Waheed O. Salau (Airport).

Others are: Markus Danladi (Commandant, Police College, Maiduguri); Tonye E. Ebitibituwa (Training ‘E’ Dept, FHQ); Hyacinth M. Dagala (Deputy Commandant, POLAC, Kano); Lawal Shehu (Admin, ‘E’ Dept, FHQ); Ibrahim Adamu (Deputy Force Secretary) Abdul D. Danwawu (Armament) and Salisu F. Abdullahi (‘x’ SQUAD)

In another development, the IGP has ordered six Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and Thirteen (13) Commissioners of Police (CPs) from various Police Commands and Formations, including Zonal Commands and Force Headquarters, to proceed on a leadership and strategic management course for senior officers.

The Course being conducted at the Centre for Management Development, Shangisha, Lagos, is geared towards equipping the senior officers with requisite leadership and managerial skills necessary for driving the vision and mission of the current Police Management in line with ongoing reforms of the Federal Government.

The affected AIGs include David O. Omolaja, Christopher Terhem Dega, Tambari Y. Mohammed, Mark Adamu Igakwo, Sule Mamman, and Adisa Baba Bolanta.

The affected CPs are: Isaac Chinyerem Eke, Marcus K. Danladi, Ahmed Ibrahim, Salihu Garba, Kudu Nma, Umartu U. Shehu, Usman Isa Baba, and Saidu Madawaki. Others are Usman Yakubu, Abdulmajid Ali, Abubakar Adamu Mohammed, Kayode C. Aderanti and Abdul Salami Iyaji.
