October 4, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actor, Charles Okocha, has stated that having two children outside wedlock is a blessing in disguise for him.
The actor has two children from two different women. He narrated how he almost made his girlfriend abort the second child because he never wanted the pregnancy.
In the interview with Punch newspaper, Okocha revealed how he had to take responsibility when the lady refused to comply with him on the idea of abortion and how his mom took her in.
“I guess those kids are a blessing even if it was outside wedlock and I never wanted them. It wasn’t something I wanted at that time. I even suggested abortion to my girlfriend when she told me she was pregnant, I won’t lie.
“I did that but owned up to the fact that I got her pregnant as I never disputed for once. I suggested that because I wasn’t prepared or ready for that and she went ahead to tell her mother and my mum heard about it. She took my girlfriend in and took care of her until she delivered my baby.
“My mother took care of everything for my daughter and it was the same with my son. They have no reason to lack. I don’t only take care of my kids alone, I take care of their mothers too.
“Because I take care of my baby mamas, they have no reason to come to say anything wrong about me. We communicate well and one of them is even married.
“She moved on because she felt she wasn’t getting any younger at that point and it’s okay. What I wouldn’t allow is another man to take up my responsibility. That’s why I work very hard and to put food on the table and make my kids live a better life”,he stated.
