Harry Kane’s Big Money Move To Manchester City Possible

July 23, (THEWILL) – The pandemic effect on the finances of the biggest football clubs across Europe has tempered down the scale of transfer business taking place in the 2021 window as not only have moves been average, there has also been no massive payouts for big-money moves so far.

That might be about to change based on a reported change in the stance of Daniel Levy, the chairman of the English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, over the future of his talismanic forward Harry Kane. The contention of whether the player stayed or be allowed to leave as he wishes to may be over with a softening of Levy.

A hardened position was adopted by the north London club to keep Kane by all means and make it difficult for him to leave. His contract was supposed to keep him at the club until 2024 but the English national team captain had clearly indicated his desire for a move which Levy did not fancy allowing.

However, the club chairman has allegedly become more favourably disposed to letting Kane leave. It could partly be based on the recommendation of the club’s new manager director Fabio Paratici and or of the new manager Nuno Espirito Santo on the decision to let the player go.

Kane won last season’s English Premier League Golden Boot with 23 goals, and now he could be heading to the Etihad stadium of the EPL champions in a move that could reach upwards of £160 million to outstrip every other fee paid this transfer season by a mile.

It is the region of the amount that the club chairman will willingly accept the loss of their best striker and City see Kane as a natural replacement for Sergio Aguero, their all-time best foreign born striker, who exited the club to join La Liga’s Barcelona, after a richly successful career in English football.

The 27-year-old striker has reportedly agreed personal terms on a £400,000-a-week deal with City, which is reportedly double his current contract at Spurs.

This will see him join the current champions to give them a striking power to not just mount a solid defense of their domestic title but try again to get that elusive UEFA Champions League trophy after missing out on the title in the final of last season’s competition against EPL rivals Chelsea.
