November 05, (THEWILL) – Following a “serious hamstring injury” in their triumph against Atletico Madrid, Roberto Firmino has been ruled out for at least a month.

Firmino will not be able to join up with the Brazil side after being recalled by Tite earlier this week, and will miss Liverpool’s match against West Ham this weekend. In the coming four weeks, Liverpool will play Arsenal, Porto, Southampton, Everton, and Wolves.

On Friday, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said: “Bobby (Firmino) is not good news with a serious hamstring injury, really unfortunate. We don’t know exactly how long he will be out but it will be not now after the international break directly. We have to work on that.”

Firmino came on as a half-time substitute for Sadio Mane in Wednesday’s match, but was forced to leave after 78 minutes due to injury.

“It’s a blow. I don’t know exactly but more than 4 weeks… a serious injury. Let’s see, Bobby is a quick healer,” Klopp added in a positive light.

Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones, who both have calf and eye injuries, will miss the trip to West Ham, according to Klopp. He said:

“Curtis is a completely different story [to Firmino], he was very unlucky in training – he got a finger that scratched the eye. I had a lot of injuries to players in my career that were not involved. He is on the way back but we have to see how long exactly.

“He will be back after the international break, for sure, but in the international break we have to see when he can start doing proper stuff again.

“And Joey, hopefully after the international break as well.”
