BEVERLY HILLS, March 08, (THEWILL) – Two brides, billed for wedding this weekend, have been kidnapped along with 17 others as suspected bandits on Monday attacked Kutunku village in Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger state.

Those abducted include 11 males and eight females, including the two would-be brides who are to get married this weekend.

The gunmen had stormed the village in motorcycles shooting sporadically. They were said to have beaten some of the villagers who could not escape on time.

The source added that the community and the families of the abducted persons have not been contacted by the abductors.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, were unsuccessful as he did not answer his calls.
