Group To Give Free Jaw Disorder Treatment For 3 Years

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, April 23, (THEWILL) – The Health, Education, Work and Shelters, HEWS Foundation, in a partnership with the University Of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH will in the next 3 years treat people with jaw tumours of various degree free.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of a 3 day free Benign Jaw Disorder Surgery mission the Chief Medical Director of UBTH, Prof. Michael Ibadin who was represented by Prof. Oza Obuekwe at the occasion said “the hospital is currently in partnership with the foundation for the next three years which maybe renewed by both parties on terms and conditions”

He said the partnership will allow HEWS foundation to pay the sum of N100, 000 on every patient while the hospital will foot the extra cost and services which may arise from the treatment.

“The foundation is expected to pay the sum of N100, 000 only as entire cost of treatment for each patient and as counterpart funding, the UBTH shall provide the extra cost and services which includes Doctors, Nursing care, theatre and others that may arise from the treatment”.

He however called on all kind hearted individuals and groups to do same. “I am now using this medium to call on other non-governmental organization to take a cue from the HEWS foundation and bring succor to indigent patient in out midst”.

On his part, the President of HEWS, Dr. Remi Adeseun commended the patients for bringing themselves out to be treated while he decried the high level of stigmatisation they have been made to pass through.

“I want to commend the patients for breaking that societal stigma to come out to say we need help”

“My appeal to the general public is that first of all our brothers and sisters who have this condition are totally normal human beings and this can happen to anyone, it doesn’t identify or choose”
