SAN FRANCISCO, April 26 (THEWILL) – A precinct of the National Assembly complex was on Tuesday besieged by hundreds of protesters who said they are out to occupy the parliament over the controversial Sports Utility Vehicles, SUVs, procured by the Senate, among other demands.

Security men barred the demonstrators, who spotted white polo shirts with a green face cap, from entering the premises of the National Assembly by locking up the main entrance.

Nonetheless, the protesters continued their rally as they have vowed not to back down until the meeting of their demands, among which was for the lawmakers to stop playing politics with the budget, and scrap constituency projects.

Aside the various placards they carried, the protesters displayed a big rectangular banner on which was inscribed this message: “#OccupyNASS

All 469 Legislators Are On Government Jobs

… While Nigerians Are Suffering And Jobless.

#ReclaimNigeria”

They are also asking for the N150bn National Assembly budget to be made transparent for all Nigerians to see what is contained therein.
