… Speaker To Be Sworn in As Acting Governor
BEVERLY HILLS, CA, July 15, (THEWILL) – The Adamawa State House of Assembly Tuesday impeached Governor Murtala Nyako after considering the report of the panel constituted to try him on allegations of financial misconduct.
State Deputy Governor, Bala Ngilari, who was also facing impeachment resigned from office to avoid the hammer.
Ngilari’s resignation letter was accepted after the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru, read it at today’s session.
The Speaker will be sworn in as acting governor pending the election of a new governor and deputy.
