Gov Sanwo-Olu Awarded Best Governor In Infrastructure Devt.

August 22, (THEWILL) – As the 2021 Nigeria Media Nite-Out Award (NMNA) is set for the 15th Edition, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has won an opinion poll, which rated his effectiveness in the provisions of infrastructure and dividends of democracy to the people of Lagos and Nigeria at large.

In recognition of his exemplary leadership and contribution to the media industry, the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, would be conferred with the award of Best Infrastructure Governor of The Year during this year’s NMNA Awards.

Sanwo-Olu will be receiving the award at the 15th Edition of the event based on how he turned the face of Lagos State in terms of infrastructure since his assumption of office as Lagos State Governor.

Others to be honoured at the event include: Kogi State Governor, Yahayah Bello, his Zamfara, Osun, Cross Rivers, Kano State counterparts, Bello Matawalle, Gboyega Oyetola, Ben Ayade, Abdullahi Ganduje respectively and former Zamfara State Governor, Sani Yerima, and a host of other prominent Nigerians.

Speaking on behalf of the organisers, the Director of Media and Publicity for NMNA, Mr. Ajibade Alabi, told THEWILL at the weekend, that the governors, particularly, that of Lagos State, would also use the medium to address the Press on his developmental strategies and achievements in the last two years.

Alabi, who disclosed that the 15th Edition of the award would be held on 19th September in Lagos, stated that the awardees were picked due to their dexterity and dedication, as well as their outstanding contributions to their various fields.

“The award is initially, programmed towards July in Zamfara State, since Lagos has been the host since inception. However, we intend to go with the winners and some selected top Journalists and Editors to also tour Zamfara State to inspect the State Government’s projects. Despite this new development, the glitz, glamour, and paparazzi that the award is associated with will not be taken away,” he said.

The organisers, however, informed that, if the security situation of the country improves, the prestigious award ceremony could be moved to the North for next year’s edition.

The survey rated Governors’ effectiveness on handling the COVID–19 pandemic, security, infrastructure, economy, political sagacity, humility and environment/ Waste management.
