Fun places To Go To In Lagos

GTBCO FOOD DRINL

December 02, (THEWILL) – Lagos is a western state in Nigeria and it prides itself as the centre of excellence, as such, there is an avalanche of locations for anyone seeking for fun.

Obviously, Lagos is a coastal city and this makes the state boasts of an array of beautiful beaches and resorts and these beaches offer more than just sun, sand and sea. Some of them are:

1. Jara Beach Resort. This resort is located in Lekki, Lagos State and it is known for its oceanfront view. Fun seekers have the luxury of staying over the beautiful beach resort and enjoy the serenity, natural peace and ambience of the environment. The fun seeker can relax around the palm trees or in a cabana on the sand. The resort is owned and managed by Team Mark and his wife, Millie Sade, who have combined 30 plus years of experience in the hospitality industry. Games one can play in the resort include volleyball, badminton, basketball, pitch and putt golf, football (on sand)

ring toss, hoop toss, French boule among others.

2. La Campagne Tropicana beach resort. This resort is also located in Lagos. It has over 6.5 acres of palm fringed white sand beach. Gives fun seekers or visitors opportunity to see at a close range a wide variety of tropical flora and fauna that includes palms, mangroves, various species of birds like kingfishers, sea hawks, egrets, and ducks. Any fun seeker who visit this resort will definitely want to come back for a revisit as the experience as the resort is simply nature’s paradise.

3. Moist beach club. This is one of the trendiest beach clubs in the country. Located in Lagos and was established and officially launched in February 2019. Moist Beach Club has a combination of a beach, restaurant, lounge, nightclub, pool bar, relaxation centre and also a beach club. Things to do at the club include Yoga at the Beach, swimming, eating, chilling by the poolside, riding a horse, sunbathing by the beachside. Etc.

Other beach locations in Lagos include Inagbe Grand resort, Landmark beach, Epe Resort and spa, Tarkwa Bay, Kuramo beach, Elegushi beach etc.

4. Nike art gallery: Apart from the beaches, lovers of arts should visit Mama Nike’s art gallery located in Lekki, Lagos State. The art gallery is owned by Nike Davies-Okundaye. Mama Nike as she is fondly called is always ready to welcome you to her gallery. The gallery boasts of about 8000 diverse artworks from various artists. Also, if you are a fan of adire fabric, then the gallery is a place for you to be as in Mama Nike’s gallery, there is never a short supply of adire fabrics. No one, take my words for it, no one meets mama Nike and won’t fall in love with her. Her personality is charming and welcoming. So also, is her gallery.

5. Omu Resort. This is nestled in the Ajah axis of Lagos. It is a place for fun and trust me it is one of the places in Lagos that is going to be buzzing with activities during this festive period. Omu Resort occupies a land of approximately 22 hectares. Take my word to the bank and thank me later, a visit to this resort will no doubt make you want to visit again. At the resort, there are lots of games and activities to do. There is a mini-golf, you can also do cart racing, quad bikes, swimming. For those who anything aquatic appeals to, the resort also has a pond where different fishes stay. There is also a zoo in the resort. The whole experience of the resort goes beyond merry making. There is also an educational aspect to the whole stuff as the inscriptions written about each animal in strategic locations is a huge takeaway for the fun seeker.

6. Lufasi park. Lufasi is an acronym for Lekki Urban Forestry and Animal Shelter Initiative. So, this is for fun seekers like me who are in love with animals. Nothing is interesting if one is not interested. That is why many can sit down and watch entertainment programmes like Big Brother Naija and others for hours but can’t sit down for four minutes to watch Dr Pol or snakes in the city on Nat Geo wild. So, for folks who are animal enthusiasts like myself, Lufasi park is a place you want to find yourself as it is a place for animal sanctuary and forest conservation. Lufasi park is located on the Lekki Epe Expressway in Lagos.

7. Lekki Conservation Centre. This is also located in Lekki like others and it is a place where one and nature align to become one. The trees and the atmosphere are terrific. For those not afraid of heights, they can try the canopy walk. There are reports that the conservation center has the longest canopy walk in Africa as the treetop walk stretches about 1,315 feet long (more than three and a half football fields).

Lagos is never short of places to visit as there are lots of places one can go depending on the interest and financial capacity. There is also the new African shrine, Freedom park and the Lakowe Lakes Golf and country estate. This is for the golf enthusiasts like me. At Lakowe, you get to Tee-off with some of the best golfers in the country. No doubt, there is an abundance of fun in Lagos and wherever you choose to do especially during this festive period. Pls stay safe, drink responsibly and remember to spend prudently because “January dey long o”.
