FRSC In Bayelsa Deploys 300 Officers, Special Marshals For Eid

July 19, (THEWILL) – The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bayelsa says it has deployed 300 Regular and Special Marshals across the state during the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.

The Bayelsa Sector Commander, Mr Ibrahim Usman, told newsmen on Monday, in Yenagoa, that the personnel will be spread around the sector command.

He said: “Our patrol vehicles, including the towing truck, will be deployed for the special Salah celebration.

“Our focus is to ensure that we record no road crash, we will also enforce the COVID-19 compliance.

“We will also engage in public education and enlightenment, removal of obstructions to ensure that we are also visible at every point in this Salah celebration.”

He asked motorists and pedestrians for more caution during this festive period.

The Sector Commander appealed to motorists to avoid drunk driving, and to ensure that the other road users are taken into consideration, and also caution pedestrians to be careful before crossing the road.

Usman said public awareness and traffic updates are ongoing through major media houses in the state with a view to sensitizing the public on road safety tips.

The Sector Commander urged motorists to abide by traffic rules, adding that violating them will not be tolerated in any way.
