French Music Duo Daft Punk Break Up

BEVERLY HILLS, February 22, (THEWILL) – Popular French music duo, Daft Punk, has confirmed breaking up after working as one for more than 28 years.

Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo who make up the group, announced this on Monday in a short video posted on their YouTube Channel.

The singers, in a footage they tagged “Epilogue,” could be seen dressed in their trademark robot costumes and having a walk in the desert.

They, however, stopped and bid each other farewell.

A short post, reading “1993-2021,” was seen thereafter explaining the group’s beginning and eventual ending.

THEWILL writes that the pair met in 1987 while attending the Lycée Carnot Secondary School in Paris and started their music partnership with Darlin, a guitar-based group, formed in 1992.

The group was disbanded not too long and Daft Punk came to existence.

The group became popular in 1993 after the release of “Homework,” their debut album.
