July 27, (THEWILL) – The Kaduna State Government says it will ensure that the freed students of the Bethel Baptist High School write the ongoing NECO examination.
The National Examination Council (NECO) is currently conducting the 2021 Senior school certificate examination.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Shehu Muhammad, said the state government was working with the council to ensure that the freed students of Bethel Baptist High School, write the examination. at the nearest centre.
Muhammed said: “There are students among them that might have registered for the ongoing NECO Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.
“The Ministry if Education and NECO Zonal Office, Kaduna, will ensure that they write their examination at the nearest centre.
He also assured parents whose children were still being held by the bandits that the state government would do the needful to ensure their safe release.
Armed bandits had on July 5 invaded the Bethel Baptist High School, Maraban Damishi, in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna state and abducted the students.
THEWILL reports that four of the abducted students had escaped from their abductors, while 28 others were released on Sunday.
Three others had earlier been released on health grounds.
