SAN FRANCISCO, January 26, (THEWILL) – The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria has revealed that the runway of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, was razed on Saturday night.
According to FAAN, the fire incident was caused by a bush fire but it didn’t stop flight activities.
The General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, confirmed you journalists that there were no flight disruptions because the bush fire incident occurred around runway 36 L of the airport.
“Officers of the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Services are presently on ground and fire-fighting is in progress.
“However, the incident did not affect flights as normal flight operations continue unhindered,” Yakubu said.
