Fight Or Vacate Title, Pulev Warns A.J

SAN FRANCISCO, May 21, (THEWILL) – Kubrat Pulev, who is challenging Anthony Joshua, reigning world heavyweight champion for a fight, has cautioned the British boxer to “either fight or vacate the title”.

The fight between the Bulgarian and A.J was supposed to happen on June 20 but due to the outbreak of coronavirus, the fight was postponed but there have been rumours of a possible unification fight between Joshua and Tyson Fury.

This development seems to irritate Pulev because of the chance of being sidelined if Joshua takes on Fury.

Pulev queried: “I can’t understand why we are still postponing instead of fixing a date and venue and getting to work?”

“Enough is enough. I can’t wait to win this fight.

“I see how people are afraid of me and are trying to face someone else before me. That’s not how a real world champion should act.”

“I did it once when I didn’t have to do it for Joshua to have his second match against Ruiz Jr. Everything was against IBF’s rules, but I compromised.

“A year has passed and they always have a reason to postpone, not to fight against me. There are two options. You either fight or vacate the title.”

THEWILL reports that A.J. and Pulev could have had their fight in October 2017 but the Bulgarian suffered an injury during sparring that made him withdraw.
