November 06, (THEWILL) – FIFA has named three North Africa officials to supervise the Super Eagles’ final two group games in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 African qualifying campaign.
On Saturday, November 13th, 42-year-old Tunisian official Youssef Essrayri will referee the Super Eagles’ matchday five fixture against Liberia’s Lone Stars at the Grand Stade de Tangier in Morocco.
The encounter is a “home” game for the Lone Star, as it is a rematch of the Super Eagles’ 2-0 victory at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on September 3rd where Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho scored both goals.
Essrayri will be assisted by compatriots Aymen Ismail (assistant referee 1), Youssef Jami (assistant referee 2), and Mehrez Melki (fourth official).
Former FIFA referee Seli Zinko of Cote d’Ivoire will serve as referee assessor, while Sierra Leone’s Sullay Kamara will serve as match commissioner. Moroccan doctor Bilal Mohamed Rida will act as medical officer.
FIFA has named Algerian official Mustapha Ghorbal as the referee for the Day 6 match against Cape Verde’s Blue Sharks on Tuesday, November 16 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos. Compatriots Mokrane Gourari (assistant referee 1), Abbes Akram Zerhouni (assistant referee 2), and Lahlou Benbraham (fourth official) will join him.
Another former FIFA referee, Ivorian Nomandiez Doue, will act as referee assessor, with Sierra Leonean Prince Kai Saquee as match commissioner. Dr. Abdulrahim Onimisi Ozi Salami of Nigeria will be the medical officer.
Both games will be played at 5pm Nigerian time
