Fela, Sunny Ade, Others Inducted Into Afrobeat Hall Of Fame

February 28, (THEWILL) – Sunny Ade, Fela, Barrister, Osita Osadebe and some legendary musicians have been inducted into the first Afrobeat Hall of Fame on Saturday.

The event was organized by Estito Davida hospitality event. The event was witnessed by a lot of music stars. The black carpet was hosted by Uti Nwachukwu and Samantha Walsh. The main event was anchored by Bovi and Dbanj.

The show was a celebration of the historic and cultural significance of the Nigeria music. The inducted class of 2021 were divided into three categories.

The first category is known as The Early Influencers such as Tunde King, Onitsha orchestra, E.C Arinze,
Victor Olaiya,Bobby Benson, Mamman Chata.

The mid-influencers (the 60s-70s). Such as Chief Osita Osadebe, Rex Lawson, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, King Sunny Ade, Ayinde Sikiru Barrister, Dan Maraya Jos, Peacock Guitar Band International, Bala Miller.

The third category, (90s-2000s) modern influencers- which includes the power to vote, such includes 2Baba, Femi Kuti, Daddy Showkey, Onyeka Onwenu and a hosts of others.

Jimmy Amu, Tony Odili, Rex Lawson, Sunny Ade, Onyeka Onwenu, Ebenezer Obey, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Osita Osadebe will be getting the Life Time Achievements in the music industry.

There was also the non performing category which includes Keke Ogungbe, Eddie Lawani, Olisa Adibua, D1, Sunday Are, Obi Asika.
Wizkid and Made Kuti performed at the event.
