Fayemi Formally Declares For 2023 Presidency

May 04, (THEWILL) – Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has formally declared interest to contest the 2023 presidential election under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Making the declaration at the Trancorp Hilton Abuja, the governor claimed that having paid the price, he is the best man for the job, assuring that he is on mission to take the country to greater heights.

“I offer myself to serve you as president. I will build bridges to unite Nigerians and take us to greater heights. I am a full blooded Nigerian”, he said.

The chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum, further revealed that his focus, if elected, “will be to scale up productivity, diversify the economy and expand revenue mobilisation.”

By entering the APC presidential race, Fayemi will be pitted against a crowded list of aspirants for the ticket of the ruling party.

Among other aspirants for the APC Presidential race include, former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha; former Abia State Governor, Orji Kalu; Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and Ebonyi State governor David Umahi; former Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and a former party chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
