Ex-CoS Orbunde Emerges First Among Kwande Guber Aspirants

March 24, (THEWILL) – Former Chief of Staff to the Governor, Terwase Orbunde, on Tuesday, scored 58 votes to emerge first aspirant in a mock primary election conducted by stakeholders in Kwande local government area.

Mr Tertsea Gbiseh, Member Benue State House of Assembly, came second with 27 votes, while Paul Ubwa, Managing Director of Pleasure Travels, came third with 20 votes, while Isaiah Ipevnor scoring 3 votes to place fourth.

Other aspirants, Tavershima Anumve, scored one vote to be fifth, Christopher Afaor, Asen Sambe and John Tyonongo got no vote.

The Chairman of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service, Mrs Mimi Orubibi Adzape, who chaired the adhoc election committee constituted by stakeholders announced the result held at Kwande local government area.

Other members of electoral committee, who assisted her were Bem Dzoho, Special Adviser on Politics to Governor Ortom and Sugh Abanyi, Member House of Assembly representing Kwande West.

Five delegates from each of the fifteen council wards of Kwande and councilors representing the wards constituted the electoral college.

Aspirants who spoke after the exercise, Mr Christopher Afaor and Tertsea Gbiseh, accepted the result on behalf of the aspirants stating that the process was free and fair.

In his vote of thanks, Orbunde expressed appreciation to Kwande PDP stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, pointing out that his emergence has placed on his shoulders the responsibility to rally round all the aspirants and the electorate to ensure that Kwande people got the governorship ticket and also win the general elections in 2023.
