October 4, (THEWILL) – Oghenekaro Etebo, a midfielder for the Super Eagles, landed in Thessaloniki on Tuesday to finalise his transfer from English Championship side Stoke City FC to the Greek club Aris FC.

Etebo signed a three-year contract to join Aris Thessalonians last month on September 15, which was the deadline day in the Greek summer transfer calendar, bringing an unimpressive end to a four-year deal at Stoke.

However, even after Aris announced the acquisition of Etebo, the midfielder was unable to travel to Greece due to visa problems. Fortunately, these issues have been resolved and Etebo has received his visa from the Greek embassy in London.

The Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium, the longtime home of Aris FC, is where Etebo is anticipated to go after arriving in Greece a few minutes after noon on Tuesday. To assess his level of preparation and his ability to fit into manager Alan Pardew’s plans swiftly, the 26-year-old will go through the required medical examinations.

Etebo is anticipated to require a particular training regimen to bring him up to speed given that he has not played competitive football in a number of months. On September 9, Aris FC will play AEK Athens in a league match, and the team is hoping that Etebo will be able to participate.
