BEVERLY HILLS, May 02, (THEWILL) – In an escalation of the fiery protests by fans of the English Premier League side, Manchester United, which led to Sunday’s Old Trafford pitch invasion by this crowd of angry supporters, as confirmed by THEWILL, there has been a disruption of the schedule for the EPL Round 34 match billed for the invaded grounds of Man U.

Reacting to the occurrence, the Premier League have now confirmed that the clash between United and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side has been delayed

In the schedule of Sunday EPL fixtures, the two red-jersey clubs were due to face off at 4.30pm in a title-deciding clash that could confirm or push back Manchester City’s EPL champion status, depending on who wins the class.

However, some footage emerged shortly after 2pm that clearly showed protesting fans, who found their way into the grounds of the Old Trafford pitch, occupying the stadium in the continued demonstration of their annoyance with the Glazer family’s administration of the club’s fortunes.

As reported by THEWILL, the situation evoked doubts over the game’s viability.

Although the Premier League initially insisted the match would go ahead as planned, a decision to rethink that has been made. It has now confirmed that the fixture will not kick off at 4.30 as planned and will instead start later on Sunday evening, apparently when things are much under control.

United fans have not sugar-coated their insistence that it is time for the Glazers to leave their club but, so far, that does not seem to have found any traction. Where the protests go after this pitch invasion will be interesting to follow. And, THEWILL will keep up with developments as they occur.
