“Enyimba Win, Our Worst Outing” – Lobi Stars Technical Adviser

January 26, (THEWILL) – The Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars football club of Makurdi, Eddy Dombraye has described the 1-0 win against Enyimba International football club of Aba last Sunday as one of its worst outings in the National Premier Football League season this year.

“This is the worst game for Lobi Stars played in the current NPFL against our opponent. I Instructed our boys to go all out and that is why I made substitution to fortify the attacks that yielded results.”

Dombraye said Lobi Stars is a big club and every season has to qualify and with three points over Enyimba FC, it lifts the club higher and keeps players in confidence.

Fielding questions from sport writers at Aper Aku stadium, Makurdi, the technical adviser hoped that Lobi Stars will go for goal against Sunshine of Akure who are playing their match in Ijebu-Ode which is like a neutral ground in the mid-week encounter.

Reacting to the defeat, Technical Adviser of Enyimba international FC, Finidi George, said he knew before time that it was going to be difficult to win over Lobi Stars in Makurdi.

According to him, his boys resisted intimidation in the first half of the game; it was a good lesson and will work on noticed flouts to overcome their opponents henceforth.

“Your captain is just coming back to the team and is not hundred percent ok. I worked on my players and know when to use any one of them at a particular game and time.

“Some players were introduced in the second half and that does not mean if they had started at the beginning, the game would have been better.”

Finidi said in any game, there has to be a winner or loser, saying his plan is to go home and work hard on how to win against the visiting Akwa United FC in the next home game.

The chairman of Lobi Stars Supporters Club, Comrade Jerome Ukor expressed confidence that Lobi will soon get it right and urged supporters to keep faith with the club to perform better this soccer season.

It will be recalled that an 80th minute throw in delivered by Gabriel Wassa and the attempt to save from Enyimba found Onuwa Chukwuka who struck a low shot in between the crowded legs of Enyimba defence players to beat Olorunleke Ojo for the only goal of the game.
